Independent refiner and marketer of petroleum products $VLO's net income rose 30% in 3Q15 to $1.38Bil, compared with $1.06Bil for the year-earlier period and its earnings per share jumped 39% YoverY. Valero attributed the higher net income mostly to higher margins in its refining segment and healthy demand.
