Interconnection technology provider $EQIX said, through its Japanese unit, it acquired about 97% of the equity interests of Tokyo-based Bit-isle, to create the fourth largest data center operator in Japan. $EQIX will begin reporting consolidated financials as of November 2, and will acquire the remaining shares of Bit-isle by the end of 2015.
