Aviation electronics company $COL reported a rise in 2Q16 earnings on lower income tax expense. Net income rose to $171MM or $1.29 per share from $157MM or $1.17 per share last year. Total sales fell 2% to $1.31Bil. CEO Kelly Ortberg said $COL's execution was solid in 2Q as it focused on delivering savings from restructuring actions taken in 1Q.
