Clothing chain $CHS reported a decline in 1Q16 earnings due to increased promotional activity in response to lower traffic and sales deleverage of store occupancy expenses. Net income slid to $31.08MM from $32.53MM last year, while EPS rose to $0.23 from $0.22 on lower weighted average shares outstanding. Non-GAAP EPS fell to $0.25 from $0.30.
$MCD stock rose more than 2% after it posted better than expected 3Q16 results, driven by global same-store sales growth. Meanwhile, earnings and revenue were lower than last year, hurt by refranchising efforts.
