Global paper and packaging company $IP reported a drop in 2Q16 earnings due to sale of the IP-Sun joint venture and the sale of the Carolina Coated Bristols business. Net income fell to $40MM or $0.10 per share from $227MM or $0.54 per share last year. Net sales slid to $5.32Bil from $5.71Bil. Operating EPS declined to $0.92 from $0.97.
$MCD stock rose more than 2% after it posted better than expected 3Q16 results, driven by global same-store sales growth. Meanwhile, earnings and revenue were lower than last year, hurt by refranchising efforts.
