Life insurer $MET said that 2Q16 operating EPS was $0.83 and adjusting for notable items, operating EPS was $1.27 vs. $1.51 in 2Q15. The pressure in operating earnings was due to a $161MM relating to the company's variable annuity actuarial assumption review and a $257MM from modeling improvements in the reserving process.
