The Calvin Klein and Tommy Hilfiger brands owner $PVH reported a jump in 1Q16 earnings driven by gain to write-up its equity investment in TH China to fair value. Net income rose to $231.6MM or $2.83 per share from $114.1MM or $1.37 per share last year. Total revenue grew to $1.92Bil from $1.88Bil. Non-GAAP EPS was $1.50 for 1Q16.
$MCD stock rose more than 2% after it posted better than expected 3Q16 results, driven by global same-store sales growth. Meanwhile, earnings and revenue were lower than last year, hurt by refranchising efforts.
