In 2015, $FITB's loans and leases, including loans held for sale, rose 2%, due to increase in commercial loans and leases. Commercial and industrial loans rose 3% and commercial construction loans rose 55%, mainly due to an increase in new loan origination activity. Commercial mortgage loans fell 6% due to decline in new loan origination activity.
