The company finished these purchases before the rate decline late in the quarter driven by the Brexit vote. Long-term debt rose $16Bil with $24Bil of issuances, including a $10.7Bil issued by the holding company.

Credit ratings agency $MCO reported a rise in 3Q16 earnings on higher leveraged finance issuance and US public finance activity as well as solid growth from Moody's Analytics. Net income rose to $255.3MM or $1.31 per share from $231.6MM or $1.14 per share last year. Revenue grew to $917.1MM from $834.9MM. Non-GAAP EPS jumped 21% to $1.34.
